no doco, no drivetrain, and a story about the trim tag = 10k?? If trim tags are as easy to come by as he says, why should we believe the one that he has is legit?

What's a doco?
The trim tag sure looks beat up for a reproduction tag.

Dean,

That trim tag pictured is 'allegedly' the original one for the car that 'proves' it's an SS396 due to the fact that you could only get Daytona Yellow on an SS396. The seller says you could have a reproduction TT made based on that partially destroyed one.

In a nutshell: that TT is meaningless, as it could have come from any car. No documentation, no drivetrain, and all new/used floorpans welded in (and they didn't even bother to remove undercoating or rust before doing so), someone else's unfinished project......this car is a buyer's nightmare waiting to happen

Gotcha

To me, a trim tag never does really prove anything anyway because it's just too easy to replace one but that one looks like it came from a car that was way too far gone to do anything at all with.

SO what's a doco?

Does this not bother people?
" A new tag will run $225 (includes rivets). We decided not to have one done simply because some restorers will have a new tag made if color or options are going to be changed"

It would be this simple to fake a code 72 or 76 SS?
