Here's the deal I found a 66 Sports Coupe VIN starts 135 hence the sports coupe. It is a 4spd car with a small block (350). It has bucket seats out of a 67, new tires front and rear with slot mags, new shocks, new coil springs in the rear. All the glass is in good shape, interior is in overall good condition other then missing the headliner, 10 bolt rear end, not sure if the tranny is a muncie. The body is in pretty good shape as well with a few spots with filler, very little rust in the rear window area and trunk otherwise really solid. The car has been sitting in a garage since 1997.

I know it is hard to determine value without seeing the car, I do not have pics to post. With the description above can you guys give me your opinion on a value. THANKS

First, Sport Coupe is actually denoted by the "17" (as in VIN "135176@######")

135 is for a 6-cylinder Malibu, so the car was converted to a V8 somewhere down the road... IMO, thats okay, as long as its not portrayed as being "original"...

"4-speed car"... I don't think the 4-speed was available with a 6-cylinder (but not positive). Again, if its not...

Buckets are nice, but is it a "bucket seat car"? If converted to buckets, did they add the extra brackets, or fab of some Mickey Mouse adapters?

Floor shift column?

IF the body/floors don't have much rust, assuming it runs/drives (you didn't say), its probably worth $2500+... How much more, hard to say... Also depends on where you are located, as different geographic areas will have different prices (generally, "rust free" car Back East is worth more than a "rust free" car in California/Arizona...

I'm located in Ca. The buckets appeared to be nicely installed if they were not original. I believe it to be an original 4 speed car for several reason. First is the gauge cluster has no place for the shifter indicator and the colum is for a manual shift. The does not currentyly run, but owner GAURANTEES it will run it just needs a distributer and a carb.

Could be an original four speed car, or a "converted" one... Probably will not affect the value without the original trans/documentation. Even then, probably not much...

How much is the guy asking?

Where in Ca? Northern, Southern, Central?
