My 72 malibu had it's dash spray painted black over it's original dark green. I want to go back to the green, there are no holes or cracks in this dash. I am also not sure what kind of paint it is. Is there any way to take it off? Thanks
I would probably try brake fluid. It will dissolve most kinds of paints, but is usually harmless to plastics. Note that I said "usually", so be careful. ;)

If its not an original restoration and you do it correctly, I would just use a kit from a company such as eastwood. They sell a kit, that has a vinyl and plastic/metal... a prep spray to promote adhersion and then thier color vinyl that you want.. I do mean follow the steps to the letter. No need to remove the old paint, just clean thoroughly.. I just went from dark green to white.. and you cant tell its painted.. We will see how long it last .. phil

You might also want to try a bumper stripper product. We use SEM#39913, but there's others out there. They work well on the bumper covers used on newer vehicles.
