just tuning up my 67 chevelle small block i put in new plugs wires and so on decided to check the dwell and it was at 15 got my dwell meter and set it at 30 darn car seem like it doesnt even want to run at 30, 25 , no better >??? is isnt 30 about right for the dwell reading should i unhook vacum line when i set dwell (I DIDNT) NEED SOME HELP could timing be a factor in this i need a expert thanxs as always RON

This post would probably get a lot more answers if it was in the proper forum. Probably engines and drivetrain. My thought is that you have the dwell meter on the 4 cyl scale instead of 8 ??

Ron. Points are to be closed in average some 0.6 of the timecycle. In dwell this means for an 8 cylinder car : 360/8 * 0.6 = 27 degrees. You should unhook your vacuum!
