Hello, I had my Malibu's 350 V8 compression tested this weekend and here are the results.

cylinder -PSI

1 = 139
3 = 160
5 = 155
7 = 155

2 = 155
4 = 143
6 = 143
8 = 132

Average compression value = 147.1 PSI
161.8 PSI is 10% over the average
132.4 PSI is 10% under the average

Per Local Automotive Head Mechanic, the plugs are look good; they didn't need replaced; car maybe could use a little less fuel (from carb and be adjusted)

Your comments are always welcome.
Also, Is there a product I can buy to add to the fuel or oil to try and increase this compression in a couple of those cylinders?

Thanks

Ryan,

There really isn't anything you can add to the oil or the gas to increase compression other than nitrous. And you are not going to run that all the time. If your engine is burning any oil ( light blue smoke ) at any time, I would probably leave it alone until you could do a major rebuild.
Meaning boring the cyllinders and going with new pistons and rings with a fresh valve job.
I have heard of people putting Marvel Mystery oil down the carb while it is running. It wouldn't hurt anything to try it. Set your idle up to around 1500 or so and slowly pour the oil in.
Supposedly it loosens up stuck rings. I would'nt bet on it though. You can find it at Kmart I think.
