I just bought a LS5 454 car from the original owner. would it be correct for the door panels to have malibu emblems? the car has been parked for 21 years and everything appears to be original . can anyone help !

Very common, in fact predominately, to have the "malibu" door panels on the 1970 SS454 only. 396 cars and '71,'72 all got the SS panels. No one seems to know why, but some suspect a parts shortage.

thanks for the info. i"m in the early stages of de-coding my car still checking build dates, numbers build sheet etc. thanks again ! that just seemed a litle odd.
