Did Chevrolet make a 1967 Chevelle Super Sport with out front disc brakes?
My freind came across one with a 138 vin but it doesn't have disc's on the front.
Thanks in advance,
Dan

Yes they did.I am about to try the 67ss 4 drum mastercylinder on my 66ss so I can get away with the single bowl mastercylinder for safetys sake.I had the same question as you when I bought my 66ss and saw the drum brakes.I was told that it was a option in 66-67.In 67 they switched over to the dual resevor master cylinder because if you had trouble with one area in the single cylinder system you would lose it all.At least with the dual if you blow a brake cylinder or line you still have the other half to stop you.

Disk brakes were never an option for 1966.
1967 was the first year of disk brakes on the Chevelle, and was an option not standard equipment.

Yes, I had a 67SS (138) 'Vert in 89 and it had original drums.

...and they didn't become standard on an SS until '69.
Discs are pretty rare on '67-68 cars, even on well-equipped SS cars. All 69-72 SS cars had discs, so it's a big red-flag if you find an "SS" that doesn't have them.

Were the early disc Chevelle calipers like the early Camaro, 4-piston jobbers??

The '67 and '68 Chevelle and Camaro calipers were four piston like the Corvette. Perhaps even the same caliper. Rally wheels also came with the disc brakes as they would clear the calipers where the old painted standard rims wouldn't.
