It has been a while since I had the steering wheel on my car. We are at the point in the restoration to put it back on. But it just doesn't look right. Can any one confirm from the picture I have posted, if the gap between the steering wheel and column is correct? With the wheel tightened down you can still see the top plastic ring cover of the steering column. Is this correct? The gap is about 6 to 7 mm.

Also I am unable to connect the horn buttons to the contact pin on the steering column (see attached pictures). I seem to be missing a piece to make this connection. According to the one picture I found in the service manual, there seems to be another intermediate piece which I do not have. Can anyone offer an opinion?

Any pics you can post would be greatly appreciated.

Norman, The gap looks ok.
DIsregard my email. about the horn contact.
After looking in my 72 Serv Manual I see that there is a wire or pigtail that comes from the horn contact in the hub and plugs into the white socket you have coming from the wheel.
I'll keep searching for you.
