What is the best method for welding on quarter pannels. Iv got a 67 chevelle with replacenent quarter skins that go about an inch past the top bend. I welded in the trunk pans with a wire welder and got a slight valley by the weld. I want to fasten the quarters without doing that. Would I be better off brazing, tig welding, wire welding (mig). Any other ideas or things I should look out for or do I would appreciate it.
Thank You.

No matter what method you use, butt weld joint or over lap weld flat or flanged.. The heat will tend to sink the weld area.
For panel welding, you should be useing MIG
with Gas.. your welds should not be a long BEAD but small DOTS 1/16 to 1/8 in in dia.
you trim and fit and fit and fit till your 100% satisfied then start Dotting (tack welding the permitter) 6 in apart... once that is done re check fit.. trunk ,sail panel ,door wheel house and rocker.. then recheck fit again and then you start filling in the dots... spacing each dot to the next set all the way around the panel.
If your orginial Tack spacing was 6" apart that's 48 trips around the panel... sounds like alot, but it prevents warped panels.. This method is tedious but when working with 1/4 over skins , it's better to error on the small weld side..
