I need someone to tell me how the crankcase breather filter is correctly connected to the left valve cover. I have: 68 396/325, TH 400, closed breather, has heat stove instead of smog, correct Q-jet.

Do I need a 90 degree metal tube inserted in the left side of the valve cover with a short piece of straight rubber hose connected to it and the crankcase breather filter; or a 90 degree rubber hose connected to the crankcase breather filter and then to a straight metal tube inserted into the left side valve cover? Thanks, Les

Les... There is a 90 deg molded hose which is attached to the breather filter. It comes out of the air cleaner, the hose is bent 90 deg, then goes straight into the valve cover. It is attached to the valve cover with a medal tube about 1&1/2" long. Of course there is a rubber grommet in the valve cover that the medal tube fits into. If you need a pic, let me know.
