Hey guys couple of questions. I am planning on installing a new radiator and taking my external transmission cooler off and running the "stock" type cooling lines. Would I lose any noticable cooling by switching from the external cooler to the the internal type in the radiator? Will the factory type transmission cooling lines require any type of fabrication using a 454 with headers ? I am installing a A/C unit and ran out of room behind the grill for my external cooler. 454 Ci , Turbo 400 , 2000 stall . Thank you for any assistance. :)

You'd never be aware of any differences unless you plumbed in a trans temp gage before and after replacing the lines to the radiator. Either Inline Tube or Classic Tube that advertise in many magazines would be able to tell you about fabrication, as well as supply the lines. NPD, Year One and Ground Up also could answer your questions. But there certainly were big block cars with automatic transmissions that were cooled by the radiator, not needing a seperate trans cooler.
