View Full Version : What kind of retractable 3 point harness have you installed in a 68-72 Chevelle? Alwhite00 Feb 2nd, 07, 5:04 PM Looking to put some sort of new style 3 point harness in my 70, What have you had good luck with? LK 73z-6sp Feb 2nd, 07, 10:44 PM Well, Morris Classics (http://www.morrisclassicconcepts.com/)makes a nice 3 point set up. I really like them in my 68 Camaro and the customer service is awesome too. About 300 bucks for a front set. Maybe not the cheapest but we are talking about your safety here. I thinks it is money well spent. I plan to install them in both my 72 Monte and my 66 Chevelle provided my 66 has the mounting provisions. I havent checked yet. 658Chevy Feb 2nd, 07, 11:27 PM The Morris seatbelts are also set up for a two-bolt attachment at the roof. A lot of the other aftermarket 3-points have only one bolt. I don't know if it necessarily makes the Morris stronger, but it looks a lot cleaner. wayne70 Feb 4th, 07, 8:41 AM I have just installed the Morris 3 point in my chevelle, they installed easy, i wish they had some form of a plastic cover where they mount at the headliner. Alwhite00 Feb 4th, 07, 5:37 PM There was an article in a mag a few months back but I cant find it. It had the two bolt attachment and a plastic cover over the top. Can't remember the brand though. LK BB_Mike Feb 4th, 07, 6:12 PM Mine are from Andover. http://www.andoauto.com/Chevelle.htm I put the retractor piece in a different spot than most others that you see pictures of. I like my setup better. It's in my signature. My top piece if the longer of the two options, that lowers the shoulder point and keeps it off of your neck. I got away from the whole "two bolts for the top" by doing this seat belt swap just prior to getting a new head liner. So, I only punctured the one hole, and that's all you see. |
