I think its because nothing is connected here:

Are these the wires that are supposed to go there? if so man, that was easy all I have to do is make another connector?

First, that is a internally regulated alternator, and the car was originally externally regulated. To use that alternator, modify the wiring at at the voltage regulator as shown in the pic (brown to blue and red/orange to white, blue to terminal 1 at alternator, white to terminal 2 at alternator, there should be numbers at back of alternator to show which terminal is which)

Heres how I did mine

and replace the connector in the pic with one for a internally regulated alternator (you can get one at a junkyard or autozone) If you get one at autozone, the connector will come with 2 short pigtails, just remove them and use your original wires (notice markings on alternator)

Greg it looks like this has already been done and that the blue and white wire there just need a different conncetor on there. Oh well this is the least of my probelms right now. The car isnt even turning over... its always something.

It is possible someone may have already modded the wiring, just make sure that is was done correctly.

Hey bud some questions. I am working on this right now and I have the wires jumped together like you have and now I am working on the rest of this. First, I am not that good with electronics but that should have been in the first post which is water under the bridge.

Moving on.

Do I run a new wire from the alternator to the horn relay or would that be the red wire that is already in place? Right now, it appears that the red wire is coming off of the alternator and going to the external voltage regulator.

Then my junction box has two wires coming off of it, both red. One is a cloth wire and its is connected to the starter. The second looks like it goes off into the direction of the horn relay.

If you need pictures let me know and I'll hop right on them. Greg, thanks again for all your help.

What amp alternator are you using? If its a low amp alternator, you can use the original wire.

It should go to the main splice, see pic

Are you talking about the junction block by the battery?

Wait, am I over complicating things and is all I have to do is jump those four wires together and then plug the alternator in?
