Hey DZ or anyone who can help,
My brother picked up a 72 vette 350 4 speed coupe, I was crawling around underneath it and copied down these number's off the 4 speed's case (passenger's side) 392566. Do they tell any information about it? Thank's, Nick P.

first things first, count the # of bolts on the side cover.. if its 7 its a muncie.. if its more, its a b/w or saginaw..

Chevrolet by the Numbers lists a 3925656, and IDs it as a standard second design Saginaw 4 spd for this application.

If all three shift levers are on the side cover, then it's a Sag. If there are two levers on the side cover and one in the extension, its either a Muncie or B/W, and then count the bolts for ID.
