I am going to replace my hood to cowl seal and when I removed the old one I noticed it was also glued in place. Is it supposed to be glued and if so what glue should I use?

No glue on my car. The seal pinches between the cowl and the fire wall. On the 67's anyway.

Tom, if you are refering to the seal on the top of the cowl, depending on which plant they were glued on as well. The assembly manual clearly shows this also. I use a black windshield seal that comes in a caulking tube made by 3M. It works perfect and looks exactly like the factory glue. There is really no need to use it unless you are trying for a factory appearance.

My Arlington car used "T" clips in the holes along the cowl, no glue. I didn't realize it could be either way (glued or clipped).

Thanks guys,
I'm going to just use the "T" clips and forget about the glue. I also didn't realize it could be either way.

My Baltimore built (1970, built late '69)car used the T-clips on the cowl seal.
