Putting a kit in a Holley 3310.

What is the best way to get the dang front metering block off the carb? I know it is not wise to pry it off.

What kind of tool do you need to get the back metering plate off?

Thanks

I pulled mine off with a good (unworn) screwdriver, I did it very carefully not to touch the tongue & groove (don't know what else to call it) portion of the block and body.

Looking from the top of your metering block there is like frost plugs on top of it . I try to get something in the plugs and the surface in which the air cleaner sits on , like a dull screw driver .

Not sure if I understand what your saying, but I will have a look.

What about those special screws on the back metering plate?

The screws in mine were just torx. You might try placing a phillips screwdriver in the screw holes and gently apply downward pressure to free the block.

Do't think mine are torx, but they sure are strange looking!

Your right. I replaced my plate with block years ago, I had to go dig through my parts bin to check my memory. did you grt your block off?

Those screws are called clutch heads . A black Robertson or square will work.

Yeah. Good one. I'm at a hotel.

Pardon, what is a black robertson or square? Is this a type of carb screw driver? If so I think I have seen one.

Sorry a square screw driver is a Canadian thing . I use to jam a phillips in that weird slot those screws are never that tight.

Aaron, they are a clutch drive as listed but you can get them out with a flat head screwdriver.
