I was offered an aftermarket shortblock and I am interested in buying it.Can you point me in the direction on what to look for? It is supposed to be 434 cu in set up.I think he said it was a Motown or Dart block, brand new and never ran.It has Ross forged pistons. It needs a cam,oil pump, and pan. What be a good price? Thanks.

info is kinda sketchy, do they actually not know what is in it? most 434 setups are going to be fairly serious dollars, you really ought to be able a decent rundown of what exactly is in it. If not, I'd pass.

Stay away and put your money in Bigblock. I takes some "really good heads" to make a large small block run worth anything. If it blows up all that crap is custom. Blow up a bigblock and it's all standard cheap stuff anyone can replace.

I just picked it up for $2000.00, does this sound fair? Will it accept my factory accessories?

the bolt holes will be there, that's about all you can say.
do you know what pistons are in it, what compression ratio it will give?

According to the seller it is a custom Ross piston,so it can run on 91 octane.Compression ratio he was not sure.

Heck, the block should be worth close to that if it is still a decent bore size..
What are ROSS pistons now?? $600/set??
