My 71 dash is cracked at the two speaker points. Can it be repaired, or do I need to buy new?????

They can be repaired but then you have to refinish the dash...I abhor having to dye any interior trim pieces particulary in a car like a Velle...you can order those Coverlays for about 120 and they are alright as long as you just drop them on the dash without using a tube of silicone to affix them...perhaps someone else can add more options to this post...a repop dash is a repop part and I am sure you've heard all about repop parts...plus they are $$$$

3 options. Buy a whole new pad, get a dash cap, or send it out to Cali. to Just Dashes and have it recapped, for about 800 bucks. I'd go with getting a new one. $289.95 for a new dash pad(NPD) and $76.95 for dash cap(also NPD) Dash caps are alright for a daily driver, or not a 100 point show car, but if you want the car to be pristine original, go with getting a new one. Good luck.

Then it must be different for each pad type. I was told it would be about 800 for a G3. My bad.

If you don't care about originality, you can make some grills to go over the speaker area. I cut some very thin hobby plywood and covered with grill cloth, then epoxied to the dash pad. This is for my non-original daily driver and I didn't want to spend big $$ or hassle with poor-fitting repops.
