Quick question on the kick panel speakers....do these make the factory lower kick panel vents useless?

My 69 convertible had the factory kick panel speakers and the vents worked.

The actual placement of the kick panel speaker should be down and forward of the vent grille on the kick panel. On 69 Chevelles, you have to cut a section of metal bracing out (that is how the factory did it) in order for the speaker to fit. Use a 4" X 6" speaker. Repop grilles are available now. They aren't exact to the originals, but close enough to work.
