Ok gents i know i posted here the other day asking how to hook up a amp meter and rpm tach i scrapped the amp and went with a voltmeter so easy to install got that done know i have my rpm tach i know were all the wires go but the thing is i want to make sure when i run the green wire to the distributer i put the wire in the correct place i have a hei distributer with a little box on the side that says tach-batt there is a wire hooked in the batt side so doe'sthe green rpm tach wire go in the other side or were should i connect it, thanks.

You got it. Outside connector on the right is for a tach wire.

got the rpm tach hooked up just one more thing well two there is a number selector on the back of the tach at idle it was showing 2000 rpm so i switched the tach to 5 on the back then the tach showed about 1500 rpm at idle so what should this be set at car ildes good no high idle or to low just right to me and on the tach it also has a orange wire which seems useless to me instructions say hook to cont.+ feed but when not hooked up tach still works lights come on when car is on when this wire is hooked back up lights still work the same when car is on just the way tach is designed to do but when car is off and orange wire is hooked up tach light is on but a low glowing light tach is made by motorsport.
