16200 and the reserve is not met...gee whiz...no documents no history...all the money you'd have to spend to make it a car again...I don't know I guess someone could make a fortune...not me...I'd rather spend my 60K on a #2 or #3 WHOLE car...

That is pretty wild...

He didn't show the VIN

Its a partial Vin: 136670K168XXX

Considering that like 20 convertible LS6's were built. It would be hard to image that 2 cars were built at the same plant at the same day within a 1000 car spread.

I agree 60K-75K on a nice #2 would be better sent.

Or maybe better yet spend the probably 20K that he wants on a real slick Malibu... :)

That is interesting though and the dude has a 100% rating...wonder where he got that stuff at????

What I find interesting is how did the guy that cut the cowl off have the foresight to know that that car would bring massive money one day. 29 years ago you could probably have both the car for $1500 dollars. Now you can't sniff one for $100K.

Who knows, without seeing the trim tag and the vin tag they could both be reproductions made to match the engine/ trans... It's not hard to get a title any more for anything older than a 79'. I guess you'd have to check out the vin stamp under the heater box to be sure it matches the vin #. This thing could have come have even come off of a 4 door if he swiched tags... Never know anymore...

my input being since i have an arlington all family 3 owner coupe. the block is rusted real bad on the vin pad. i am looking at my pad and the T CRV IS ON THE LEFT TOP. AND THE VIN STAMPINGS ON RIGHT LOWER SIDE OF VIN PAD MY CAR HAS NEVER BEEN DECKED. ONLY CLEANED WITH A 3M PAD. i am not saying that it would be impossible but where is the rest of the car. where did all the other parts go. like the 12 bolt and so on, and had to forsight to keep them but not the rest. but 29 years ago is a long time. the vin pad sure got a lot of rust in storage. the block casting appeared to be 1/15/69 that is an early casting on the block dont you think. just my view. good luck for who ever buys it.

I sent tis to him:
Before I place any bids on the 70 LS6 vert I would like some more info about it.
What is the CON # located under were the blower motor is on the firewall.
What is the full VIN # of the car.
What is all the Cowl tag info.
Do you have any other parts for this project.
Can you post any pictures of all this info that I need before I place any huge bids on this car.

So now is the question to see if he replys and see his answer???

Looks like the same seller sold a trim tag for a 69' Z/28 recently.

Probably not. My friend had talked to the gentleman, and he was informed that the auction would be ended if he received a firm offer. His reserve was about $42000. I seen the deck stampings and they were legit. The only thing to question, would be the VIN tag. If the VIN looked legit (which I did NOT see) then without doubt this was an LS6 Convertible.
The story is, the car was wrecked way back when, and caught fire. This is why there was no interior to look for a build sheet in.

could you explain the 1 15 69 LS6 454 CASTING DATE ON THE BLOCK. it sure got a lot of rust in the storage building the vin deck was almost gone and is not in the same spot as mine. just curious

I believe if you look at the add again the block is L-15-69, which would make it Dec 15 69.
