I got a call from Chuck last night. He was thanking me and discussing my donation to the auction, which he started at Chevellabration last year. WENT OVER REAL BIG!!! (about $7000 went to the charity)
As most of you know, who have attended in past years, door prizes were given out during the event and at the awards. It was not uncommon for a winner to turn around and sell their prize because they didn't need or want it. Last year, Chuck had an auction for all of the prizes. This accomplished two things. It got the prize to a person(s) who really wanted it, AND, the proceeds all went to a worthwhile children's charity.
WHAT COULD BE BETTER???????????
As many of you know, last year I donated a 69 Muncie that I had rebuilt.
This year, I'm going to make another donation (you'll find out what it is at CB07).
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, HERE IS MY CHALLENGE. IF ANY OF YOU HAVE SOMETHING WORTHWHILE (not junk that you just want to get rid of) THAT COULD REALLY BE USED BY SOMEONE, HOW ABOUT DONATING IT FOR THE AUCTION.
I should think ANYTHING would be good, whether it be a NICE poster of a Chevelle, or, a built, ready to bolt-in 454, or anything in between. For example, SOME of our kids are looking for 68 Chevelle frontend parts to rebuild their car that rearended the big brown truck!!!!!!!!! :clonk:
Remember, the proceeds go to charity!
