: 68 painted! (pics)
bubba68ss Jan 26th, 07, 6:29 AM finally got my 68 from the paint and starting reassembly. the color is exactly what i want (but the pictures dont really show how much greener it it, like when the sun is shining vs. garage lighting)
it used to be red, as in my signature
so what do you think?
that ole' grille really sticks out like a sore thumb especially with the new header molding...and paint

barnyard68 Jan 26th, 07, 7:53 AM Really nice Chris. I cant wait to get mine in color. The stripes look great too. What color is that ?
Wwalstrom Jan 26th, 07, 8:04 AM I think it sucks ... that my car would look like a pile of scrap metal next to that shiny '68. You at least could have practiced on my car.
Looks good to me!

not sure of the 'correct' name, but its a med. turquoise metallic, basically. ill ask when i go back to get my touch up paint. right when i got it i put a scratch in it but luckily it was right under where the stripe was going to go!
again, it a lot greener in the sunlight. especially next to my 69
do you think it looks a little 'tripoli turquoise'?
mine

68bye Jan 26th, 07, 10:28 PM Nice color, alot better than red. And you used my favorite kinda stripes for a 68, ......The correct ones! Looks great!
Bill Rose Jan 26th, 07, 10:44 PM Looks good!! It's all down hill from here:thumbsup:
bubba68ss Jan 26th, 07, 11:01 PM thanks for the comments. any nitpicks?! lol. its going together pretty fast since i already have the parts...though i somehow managed to spend $1000 on misc stuff... in the past week. geez. im having a blast though. and it also feel good to KNOW that there is no rust. that rear window channel ewas completely gone (especially on the top valley) but was completely fixed with real metal.. though, they used what looks like pop rivets to hold the clips in place. they seem solid, just expected welded studs. itll do, as long as they hold. i guess they wont rust since they are like aluminum, i think.
anyways, back to the garage. just finished replacing all the weather stripping (glued in place this time). now i have to do a headliner, that's holding every other thing up like the package tray, rear quarters, windshields and trim.
if you cant tell, my goal is to get it back to stock. (except correct color. and the buick interior...until i can find all that)
Gazzer Jan 27th, 07, 12:45 PM Looks good Chris, who did the paint up there ? Are you pleased with the job they did ?
