: Threaded rubber grommets for attaching AC condenser
DZAUTO Jan 24th, 07, 7:41 AM Does anyone know where I can find the rubber grommets that have a threaded metal insert in them which attaches the air cond condenser (68) to the radiator support? I don't have a clue if they are available from Chev becasue I don't know where to find a part number in the parts book. And I don't find them in any of the vendor catalogs.
They are just like any other rubber grommet that pushes into a hole in sheetmetal, but instead of having a hole in the grommet they have a threaded insert (nut) for the screws that attaches the condenser in front of the radiator. I need to find 4.
BADCHVL Jan 24th, 07, 8:35 AM I have some ! The part # i have is 10137292. If these are the ones you need let me know and i will send you some.

DZAUTO Jan 24th, 07, 10:03 AM Bobby,
Its really too bad that you are not a woman---------------I'd give you a big hug and a kiss!!! :D
I just called my Chevy parts man and he said that's still a good part number, so I had him order 4.
THANKS A TON!!!!!!!!!!!!
By the way, the ones that you have, do you know if the threads are U.S. or metric?
djw Jan 24th, 07, 10:05 AM Tom...those are called well nuts. Fishing trolling motors mount to the fiberglass boats with those. Great for cushioning vibrations. If you don't want to wait, go to your local Lowes. They have them in different sizes over in the specialty fastener area.
BADCHVL Jan 24th, 07, 10:14 AM Thanks Tom, i will pass on that hug and kiss, :noway: You did't have to order any i would have been glad to send you some. Glad i could help.
BADCHVL Jan 24th, 07, 10:15 AM They are U.S. Sorry i forgot to mention that.
no1dc Jan 24th, 07, 11:22 AM An FYI they are still available from GM. Pete

US thread=not metric
Should be a 1/4" x 20, Coarse thread

Chris R Jan 25th, 07, 2:13 AM U.S thread = standard threads.
Which by the way hasnt been used in us auto industry over 20 years now. Its all metric across the board.

Are you sure they're not fine thread?
I'll have to look at mine. I can't remember.
I just ordered some from AMK.
Then figured out they're the same well nut you can buy at the hardware store.
Ark68SS Jan 25th, 07, 10:44 AM Are you sure they're not fine thread?
The PO had mine secured with household toggle bolts. The ones I saw on another car were 1/4" x 20, so I went to the hardware store bought the well nuts there.;) Now I'm trying to find the Riv-nuts that are in the right inner fender that the A/C dryer brackets bolt to.

BADCHVL Jan 25th, 07, 12:57 PM ARK68SS i think you can use the ones that GM uses on the tailgates of their 2003 thru 2006 trucks. They are riveted on the tailgate to hold the protector on the top. Not sure of the size but positive about their use. All you have to do is insert them into the hole and screw them in ,the nut comes up when you tighten them up.
Ark68SS Jan 25th, 07, 6:02 PM This is what I'm looking for, but I only need 2 of them in 3/8 x 16 thread size. http://www.avdel.textron.com/brochures/threaded_inserts/html_tables/9658.htm
Then I'll have to get off my lazy a$$ and pull the inner fender, which means discharging the A/C system and taking the hoses off. :( It's not real high on my to-do list right now. :p
