Some guy wants to buy my 71' fenders, he's putting them on a monte carlo which i know nothing about. He swears they will fit I told him I wouldnt bet on it. What are your thoughts?

No, monte fenders are different.

They definately will not fit a Monte. Sell the fenders to him on a "no money back" guarantee. That'll teach him a lesson. smile.gif

Monte fenders are completely different that Chevelle fenders. I know that they are longer between the wheel well and the door edge by about 3 inches, and that is just the start. But hey if he insists that they will fit, sell them to him and let him figure it out himself.

They may be the "same" in that they may "bolt" on, that doesn't mean body lines line up and that sort of thing. Buick Skylark fenders WILL bolt on a Chevelle, but all that means is the mounting points on the cowl are the same. They are both built on the same "Platform" being "A" bodies. But the body lines will not match, so what is the point?

If he needs Monte fenders, send him my way. I got several. Remnants of a parts frenzie a couple years ago.

I've seen pictures of a '70 monte with a '70 Chevelle nose on it, looked VERY COOL. He may have used wagon/el camino fenders though, I'm not sure, either way the lines won't match up to the door, but the elky/wagon fenders look like they'd be a closer match.
