hey guys, i recently switched from a holley double pumper to a pro-systems 950 hp carb. with the regular double pumper there was a nipple on the throttle baseplate for a pcv hookup, but on the new carb i bought there is no provision for it. i have a moroso air cleaner that i can punch out 3 holes and put a stock style pcv onto but its very big in diameter. like 5/8 to 3/4 of an inch, but the pcv valve that i have coming off of my valve cover is 3/8, so theres a big transition. does anybody know if any companies make a smaller sized hookup for the air cleaner method...or anything i want to run a pcv setup but i dont want to drill into my carb spacer and tap it.

pictures would be great as well

If you haven't had your prosystems carb for very long give Patrick a call and see if he would swap out the baseplate for one with a PCV provision. When I had him build my carb I asked for ported/ non ported vacuum as well as PCV provisions on the baseplate.

running it into the air cleaner is not a PCV, that's just a vent, same as a breather cap. A PCV is hooked to manifold vacuum. get over it, drill and thread the spacer or the manifold. Ever see the cruddy condensation/water build up in a non PCV engine?. Yuck. You need to pull crankcase vapors out of the front of one valve cover, let clean air in the rear of the other. Or vice-versa. That's what hole in the air cleaner base is for. Look at the way stock engines are set up, they are right.

Bloodhound I think you have the wrong idea about where you can put your PCV. The PCV MUST be connected to manifold vacuum.

The only reason a PCV is in any way related to the aircleaner is so that the air that is sucked through your engine, by the PCV, is filtered by the air cleaner element.

Since you've lost your vacuum source for the PCV you're going to have to either drill and tap a hole, in your intake manifold, for a nipple that you can connect your PCV to OR you'll have to change out the carb base plate for one that has the 3/8" nipple in it.
