This is a mount I fabbed up today for my 66.
It will mount in between the frame rails, rear of the differential and forward of the gas tank.
Just passing it along.
Hope it helps someone.:)

Nice work, what does that mount bolt to? Is it rubber isolated somehowm to prevent vibration noise?

I have angle brackets on the ends of the bar itself to bolt to the rear frame rails. (dont have a wleder handy)
And the pump itself I was going to mount it directly to the bracket, and try it out.
If it rattles I'm put some rubber mounts in between the fuel pump mount.

Now, what to do about fuel line?
I'm leaning toward rubber line as I have heard that steel braided can possible cause sparking, or I may try to form my own steel line with flares.
Anyone try this?

I have a simular type setup on my 66. I have one of those cast alluminum rear end covers with the bearing supports. The placement you have in the pics will not clear that cover (not sure @ stock). Both the pump and filter need to be outboard more. Hard lines are best and easy to fab imho.

Richard,
Where did you get the hard line hardware (NTP - flare fitting???)
Did you flare your own lines?

the sparking I heard about from a guy at Oriely auto parts.
As far as clearance goes. I mocked it up and it looks like there is a good distance between the punkin and pump.
(I'll have to take a look again today after church)
I also had plans of installing one of those alum covers, so I hope it dont not interfear.
I will take some more pics when I get it all mounted up

My hard lines are aluminum. Easier to bend than steel. I used inverted flare fittings in brass that I got at NAPA (because I did not want the blue and red -AN fitting look). Photos are here: http://web.mac.com/zemke2/iWeb/Site/The%20Shop.html

As good as it looks I dont think I'll ever use braided steel line again. I like the pushlok stuff better.

You can get a 45 degree double flariing tool, tubing cutter, and a nice bender for @ $50 at sears or any good tool supply. Get a bender that works the tube around a radius. The line and fittings are available at all the main parts stores. They hide the line in the back. If you want the AN stuff you will need a 37 degree tool, and will probably have to get that from an aircraft supply or mail order. I am in the middle of DFW, when will your 66 be running?
