I have been pouring gas all over the place with those new &%%$%%#@!$%Vent free gas cans. Mentioned it to a friend on mine, and he had a great idea:

Drill a hole where the vent is suspose (used) to be. Drill a hole for a tire valve. Mine was a 1/2" hole. Put the valve in and shake it around until you can get the tip to stick through. Screw in a tire valve stem remover and pull it through. Now just un screw the stem, throw it away, and presto. You now have a vent!!!

Took all of 3 minutes to do and $.50

I never even heard of a vent free gas can. What next you can't flush the toliet because it waste water? Oh ya they already did that.:D

Talking about saving water, a few years ago a politician suggested that everyone should put a brick in the water tank of their toilet. Just that much less volume of water per flush. In a big city it would save millions of gallons each day. Changing the float height would accomplish the same thing I guess.

for those of you that don't want to have to rattle the can around trying to get the valve stem to come out ...... a sheet metal screw does the same thing just loosen to pour :D
oh ... & tighten again to seal ;)

Tire valve is a good idea!
However...are they made of neoprene(petrol resistant)or plain 'ol rubber?

Just watch! Old style gas cans will become a $500.00 item on E-scam!

ha ha, If you only knew how many bricks I have removed in the last 40 years. :D

I would just punch a vent hole in the can and stick a rubber plug in it myself.
It is a good idea though

Big Fred, Had not thought about that. Might need to keep my eye on it. It works very well. LOL on the Ebay scam. Who would of thought that we would be looking for old gas cans. What's next???
