how do you tell if a 1970 chevelle is an ss besides the quick obvious stuff that anyone can change?I bought a 70 that i was told was an ss 396 in it resides a 454 now 4spd but i cant find anyone that can tell by the vin are there #s elsewhere? and a book to decode? i was told gm was very vague on which options could have been added last minuite that could have made it an ss
