Hey guys:

Sorry for the total noob question but I am looking to make a car and am hoping y'all can point me toward some resources for information. I would like to take a great body 70 Chevelle 350 buckets, console and AC and make a (an?) SS clone, maybe even an LS6 clone, but perhaps with some less outwardly visible pro tour things too like an OD transmission, beefed up suspension and updated stereo (no to mention what little gems the 454 might have added :D )

I will not represent this as anything other than a clone and in fact want to make the car to drive and enjoy, not sell for profit. I am more familiar with Camaros and not sure all what needs to be changed on a Chevelle to make an SS. I know the dash needs to be change and I believe there is a different front grill and the emblems. 12 bolt of course. What are the other differences? Are there different bumpers and lights etc? Rear tail pan? And what else do I need to consider?

I did a search on this site and didn't see anything but perhaps I didn't look in the right place. Is there a source of information someone can point me to?

Thanks

Mark

Mark,

The rear bumper is different, the SS has a rubber insert.

The grill is black with no vertical stainless piece in the middle. The front turn signal lenses are clear with amber bulbs, instead of amber lense with clear bulbs. You will have to replace a wiring harness or two to run the round gauge package. The link from Dean tells everthing you need to know. It was a helpful for me when looking for a chevelle.
