Hi guys,Im a new member but had been building my little combo for about 6 months before I found this forum.

My little budget combo and story behind it....

Bought a short block off a buddy who couldn't finish the build for his Camaro. Basically is a near stock 355 with silvolite flat tops, stock rods/bolts and cast crank. Stock pan and 8" balancer and timing cover. He had a reputible machine shop in our city do the work and assemble it. Soon after i bought it wanting to do a little budget turbo motor for the time being. Times change and so do ideas so I wanted to go supercharged due to the price of a 142 Weiand. I decided to go that route and did.

Im using budget Dart S/S 165 cc heads for $589.95 brand new assembled with 72 cc chambers. Im using all Fel-Pro gaskets but had to go extra cheap and buy a summit cam with a 114 LSA to work best with this little blower. Its a 224/234 @50 with .465/.488 lift with aluminum crane roller rockers. Im using Hooker muscle car mid-lengh 1 3/4" headers into a 3" exhaust with a 3" x-pipe I made myself going through Hooker Aerochambers. To top it off Im using the 142 satin finish blower with a Holley 750DP jetted up 6 sizes in the rear.

So far with my 69' chevelle im breaking it in hard and seating the rings good. Im making some passes with it and this car rocks with the little blower on it! For such a little blower and only 100 miles it pulls off a 12.59 on the Gtech Pro with a passenger. I still need to hook up the my wideband 02 to get the mix right and timing on. Im using 91 octane and 32deg total and a cold ACDelco plug.

12.59@109 in a full weight car with my buddy not completely hooking yet. Theres room for improvement in driving/tuning/timing and breaking it in. These little blowers are fun and Im only making 4 1/2 pounds of boost at most with the supplies pullies.

Ron,you where right,I do love this little blower motor. Its somewhat quiet just to drive but whines when stomping the happy pedel! Track results to come A.S.A.P. What you guys think?

Hey Mike, good to hear you got it in finally! We got to hit the track again this year, another Famoso run?

Those blowers do sound good when youre on them. Kinda fun on the freeway when you pass people they jerk their heads like, "what the "...

Congrats on the new engine. Blowers are fun. Make sure you get your tune up right before you start beating on it, you don't want to be lean.

Im getting a pop up through the carb at sometimes during first mash of gas. Maybe 1 in 10 times max. Im guessing thats a lean condition.

I think I might have blown the powervalves cause I've done alot in the past day to correct the problem including adjustment of all valves, timing, jetting, accelerator pump shot etc...

What you guys think?

What is your fuel pressure at?

It is between 6-7psi. 76 jets front,86 jets rear. float level is stock and its where it should be so far and I tried to adjust the accelerator pumps equally to help squirt fuel faster.

??????? I need to get off my @$$ and hook up my WB02 and see what it does!

Mine smoothed out a lot going from 6psi to 7psi,but then I had to re tune the pump cams again. You might want to jet up in the primarys cause your powervalve is probably never seeing low enough vacume to open.

Your probobly right Motorhead,I just pulled my front bowl ASSuming they where a jet close to the rears.....WRONG! The carb out of the box came with 71/80's! WTF! Thats totally wack in my opinion so I just put in some 76's and brought the rears down to 84's.

GROVEY,im actually a the almighty cheif fat nutz of the tribe "heavy sacks"....and no,i don't mean heavy sacks of patato's:D if you know what I mean.

I hooked up my A/F meter and noticed at slight tapping of the trottle where the hick-up happens the A/F ratio spikes up to 17/18!!! I think the 30cc acclerator pumps aren't doing it even when adjusting to the spring/arm to its max to get the most pump shot avalible. Maybe my squirter nozzles aren't big enough either. But at WOT the jets seem to be good at 12.2-12.7 A/F ratio.

well i cant say for a 1966 chevelle but i can say for a 1971...NO !!!!!! under the hood my rear. it will fit under the hood of a 71 if you have a 6 inch cowl. im not trying to steal the thread, i have a 383 sb chevy 10.85 to 1 static compression with brodix track 1 heads out of the box 630 lift comp roller and a full eagle rotating assembly and 5.7 rods not 6.0 inch with a 177 weiand blower topped off with a 950 alcohol carb prepped by a.p.d and i think mine flies considering the weight of the car through the mufflers and on 10 inch tires all at only 7 p.s.i of boost. I have been running mine for going on 3 years and other than the hood clearance thingy I LOVE IT !!!!!!.

Hey Guys, I am new to the site and man am I jealous of all of you out cruzin and I am here Shoveling, waiting for spring.

Anyways, I just a new 355 for my 69 Malibu, and have been tossing around the idea of either stroking it, or going with the Weiand 142 blower. I'd love to put the blower on it, but I am not sure if it would fit under the stock flat hood. does anyone know?

blower is a great addition. Night and day difference in performance. No it won't fit under a stock hood of our chevelles' unless its a SS hood. Then the use of a drop base, tiny air filter can only be used. Not much room thats why I bought a 4" Harwood hood.
