Lets say a certain member found THE actual manufacturer of GM, comp, crane, Blah Blah pushrods. Then let say that he can buy at the price that these companies do? Like set of adjustables (for finding length) for $20.00. And the actual rods in several configurations (welded ball ends, press fit ones or formed, diff materials) Just about anything you could buy aftermarket, At half price or less. How many of you would want him to make a trip for you and how busy would he get doing it??? Just wondering......................Bill

Whiskey,

if you are wanting to try to set up a group purchase you'll need to work with Al, owner of this board. try am@chevelles.com. otherwise, you need to take it off line.

If you're just going to sell parts, well, not in the forums. Still.

Sounds like a business venture to me. And if ANYONE offered me ANYTHING at half price, I would walk the other way.

If anybody offered me something at half price I'd probably buy more than one set.

FastRedGMC Give that man a cupie doll! Yes OE pushrods is the manufacturer! Its a little hole in the wall In Mt. Clemens Mi. They very nice guys and have been making oem and Hi po pushrods for decades. They sell to most of the major manufacturers. I was not looking to start a bussiness. I work at GM Powertrains in Warren Mi. Not to far from there. I was just wondering about doing a little running for the members here if they needed some, to save my brothers some money. But I didnt want it to become 300 guys screaming gimme gimme gimme. I was looking to test the waters and see what the demand might be before I said, "Hey Guys tell me what ta send ya!" I dont mind helping other chevelle guys out just didnt want to make it my whole life for the next 6 months. LOL I wouldnt mind doing a mass order for the guys, or run back and forth for guys here and there. But I was amazed at the mark up these cam companies charge! Our hobby is expensive enough and I figure every little bit helps. They sell pushrods guides and studs of various lengths and levels of performance. Just about anything you can buy aftermarket. Need custom length no prob. They normally dont sell out the front door. But if you looked hard enough to find them, then they have no prob doing that. like I said nice guys. Bill PS Hey Fast Red you local here in Mi.?

think about what you might do if a member ordered the wrong pushrods and wanted to return/exchange them? these type of things always come up sooner or later.

If they were a standard length. They would take them back. Member would only be out shipping. But if non standard and the member miscalculated his needed lenghth, and ordered that exact length, then he would be stuck. (standard by the way I believe is in like .050 length increments or something not just what was in motor from factory) And yes Tom these are the reasons I was cautious in the first place. Bill

Thanks,

Yeah i live right in Roseville about 5 miles from OE. Ive been in there a few times they will make a set of rods in less than an hour for me. He even gave me a few extra in case i ever had a problem bending one or something.

Last time i was in there he had 3 pallets stacked of pushods going to Comp.

It is amazing the price they mark them up!!

Trend pushrods i believe is not that far way either.

It's almost strange that they will sell out the front door. Most manufacturer's won't sell like that due to contracts with the companies they are working for. It has to do with the +100% mark ups the distributing companies have on the items. Most big companies do a lot of R&D and then specify how they want the items built. The R&D is what brings the extreme mark-ups and contracts.

I don't know about ALL that...........

When I was designing stuff, I told a potential supplier what I wanted and why and he got back to me with what I needed!!
