I have a cheapo siphon gun and a reconditioned LV platinum gun. I used the cheapo to spray Corroless and I am ready to spray Eastwoods Chassis Black.

Will the chassis black harm my new(to me) sharpe gun. The overspray with the corroless and the siphon gun was amazing, it got everywhere.

I didnt buy the platinum new but dont have 200 to throw away either. Thanks

I know a Platinum is made by Sharpe but I am not sure what the "LV" is you put in front of it is.
You can spray anything you want through your Platinum, just clean it well after you get done.
Tell me, what air cap and tip does it have? Look for a sticker on the front of the gun or on the nossle for a 1.3,1.5 something like that. And on the cap for a 2000 or 3000.

Chris, I have the LV platinum.. This gun is wonderful.. I have sprayed, primer, base, and clear.. as well as metallics and pearls through this gun.. I disassemble and clean after every job, and have yet to have a problem with it. You will love this gun.. Martinsr, the LV Platinum is Sharpe's Low volume (7.9 cfm at 50 psi) gun for use with smaller compressors. It is IMHO the best gun out there for hobbyists wanting professional results, buying a refurbed one from sharpe will set you back about 160 bucks shipped to your door.. I've sprayed with a devilbiss top-o-line and my sharpe, I would be willing to bet with the same materials, and gun setup, you couldn't tell which gun the paint came from http://www.chevelles.com/forum/biggrin.gif By no means am I telling anyone too change thier preferences, but I am listing the months of research, reading, and results I have been through; Hopefully it will help someone... Chris, if you have any questions on setup, use, etc of your sharpe, feel free to e-mail me. Or go too the message boards at www.sharpe1.com (http://www.sharpe1.com) Dr. Gun (as he named himself) will help you achieve the results you want, even if it is with a competetors gun http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif Have fun painting.....

Chris,

They still have a page for your gun at http://www.sharpe1.com/platinum.htm which may contain some useful information. You might want to get what you can from this site soon.
