First off thanks to everyone who helped with the hood hinge and bout measurment questions earlier. Now that those areas are dealt with it is time to start gathering parts for the trip to the body shop. Has anyone used or know of anyone that has used a glass hood from American Sports Car Design inc.? They have a bolt on 4" cowl for about $420. I couldn't find anything on the site about the manufacturing process so I am concerned about quality. So far my 1st choice is still Harwood but I am still shopping around. If anyone know about ASCD or another quality company please let me know. I am looking at about 2 months before I will order anything.
Thanks

You don't mention the year of your Chevelle, Goodmark out of GA make nice steel cowl hoods for many 72 & older models. Glasstec in IL makes a good glass hood. Harwood is a good bet too.

Oh yeah, I guess telling that our car is a 69 would help.

Does glasstek deals directly with the public?
I thinking of buying one for my camino

I've heard great things about glasstek and harwood, but harwood doesn't make one for a 67 (at least not one that bolts to hinges)

Stay away from Unlimited Performance. I found out about Glasstech to late. I had all ready bought my 66 hood and it is a piece of junk. It took a lot of extra work and it is still rough.

Just my 2 cents, but stay away from UP

Not trying to "vendor bash" here, but I have to agree with Whittaker on Unlimited...Just a warning to anybody who has thought about them, that it will take ALOT of work to make it look even decent..I know...I bought one...

I wished I would've know about the other manufacturers, like Glasstek http://www.chevelles.com/forum/frown.gif

Oh well...hey, does anybody know how much a flat fiberglass hood would run for a 71 Malibu? (I use the hinges, but no latch...)

Thanks...
