I am almost ready to paint my 66SS and I'm not sure what color the pan should be between the bumper and grill. If the car is black, should the pan be silver or black?

Hmmm. Probably both.

My mist blue 66 has the blue from the chrome outward (under bumper) and silver from the chrome inward (under grill)

I have seen red cars the same way.

I would guess that black cars also had it.

I agree...

Body color in front of the trim (to under the bumper) and an argent silver from the trim back (under the grill)...

That the only way I have seen unrestored SS cars, but of course, theres always exceptions...
