: Would You Paint A New Gas Tank? sly fox May 19th, 00, 6:03 AM I am putting a new fuel tank from Year1 into my 69 Malibu. It's not a show car, but a pretty nice restification. If I don't paint it will it rust? If I were gonna paint it, what color? Originality is not that important, I just want it to look good and function good. Thanks! Paul Lower SoCal May 19th, 00, 7:21 AM Sly Fox, I bought a new tank from Muscle Factory in Los Angeles. I had it powder coated. It turned out great. I mentioned where I bought it from because their supplier brazes the filler tube to the tank. Not soldered. Solder may melt when the cooking process is performed. Not sure about all suppliers quality. Anyhow I thought the powder coating would add some durability. JSchramm May 19th, 00, 10:44 AM POR-15 comes in clear and silver.
