You want some diferenet types of body hammers and dollies. Get one that has a long pointed end and one that has a chisel end. Those are my personal favorites. Also get a body file it helps find the high and low areas.

You place the dollie on the backside of the dent and hit the high side with the hammer. You use very light blows with the hammer and hold on to the dollie with slight pressure let it recoil back as you strike the metal. Use to much force with the hammer and your high spot will come a low spot. Never ever over work the metal, dont try to get it perfect, and by all means dont be afraid of using bondo to level out the metal.

Bumping out dents is nothing you can just pick up a hammer and dollie and think you will get good results at first. Practice practice and more practice. Get a junk fender or something and practice on that before hand, because this is something that you can really mess up in hurry. A good book to buy that will go into metal bumping detail is one from the Eastwoood Company called Basic metal bumping techiques it is written by one of the best sheet metal experts ever. That book will be able to go into the detail and give pics on how to do it right. Ive been swinging body hammers for years and trust me if you dont know what to do and when to do it you WILL REALLY miss things up. Buy that book it is well worth the price and even I learned a thing or two from it...Eric
