Anybody know where I can get correct tension hood springs for 66' Chevelle SS396 hood? I have tried Year One's, NPD, and Hinshaw's. They all lost tension in under 6 months. Hinshaw's were GM and the hood sagged about 5-6inches in about 4 months.

The hood is heavy....especially with the SS hood louvers. Need stout springs.

How about the springs off a full size car. Impala? You should be able to find them in a local kkyard some where, Ya think?

i ordered my ss springs thru a gm dealer.

Thanks for suggestions. I will check at GM dealer. Also the Junkyard for a full size Impala, etc. sounds like a possiblity too.
