NOS '69s can still be had for $300 +/- each. '68s would probably be in the same range. They're harder to find, but also harder to sell (less '68s out there). I would think supply/demand would be about equal, maybe a little more. I'd probably start at $400 each and see if anyone bites.

You can still buy GM factory fenders for a 68 from your local dealer for 350/ea. You will lucky to get 300/ea for them. I wouldn't buy from a private party unless they were at least 100/ea less then the dealer. Much easier to deal with damage/returns at the dealer level.

Your local dealers must be better than mine...they just laugh when I asked for fender!

The fenders are still available to GM dealers. If they laugh they don't know what they are talking about. I confirmed it from my local dealers that they can get them!

However, my local dealers want $450 to $550 for the GM fenders. Not sure if there is a difference between Goodmark and GM's or what, I know Goodmark usually uses GM molds.

Goodmarks can be had through some restore parts places for about $300-350. I heard some say that the fit is not as good as the factory fenders, so I am going to try to repair some junkyard fenders that need patched and a few dings worked out. Might save a few bucks as well, but put in a lot more work.

My local Chevy dealer just laughs anytime I ask if anything from before 1990 is avaliable. Even if I know it's still available. Guess they just don't want to deal with it. This is even after I bought a 20,000 truck. graemlins/sad.gif

Has anyone had any experience or luck getting 65 fenders from GM? Just curious if any other years are available. jk

If you see a products such as GoodMark or Dynacorn steel which are authorized "GM Restoration Parts" they can be had directly from a GM dealer. The only problem is that you'll be asked for full retail price and with the dealer markup... ouch...

I have a set of 69 fender's which I got from a "Hot Rodding Friendly" GM dealer and I got them at THEIR COST Price which was shockingly CHEAP! You just have to find a good dealer with a great parts guy who likes the older stuff.

I asked a childhood friend, whose Mother is co-owner of a GMC/Pontiac Dealer and he is the parts counter guy, about restoration parts for my 68. He said that he can get parts, but the GM Parts computer system does not list anything prior to 1984, because that is the cutoff where they started listing parts on the system. If there is an updated part #, then he could probably find it. He told me you can't look up parts by the vehicle, because the Chevelle is not listed. He has the same access we all have to http://www.gm-restorationparts.com/ewopg/OPGSITES/entry.asp which he said was the only place he could get older vehicle parts from. Maybe he doesn't know the whole story, or if there is a way to look up the older parts still available from GM. He is also kinda lazy.

My guys would not give out the part number but he did call Flint, Michigan and said they are still avail. in original 1968 stampings (limited quantities). Retail is $546.39/ea. It took all of 2 minutes to look them up and call back east. I think your guy needs to be :smacked:

My local Chev. dealer told me that the only way to look up parts is by old catalogs. Before computer cataloging thats how they did it. He has to look it up, then punch it in the computer for availability and price. He also doesn't loose sight of the cat. because once it gone there goes his source of info. I wish i could get a copy.

My parts guy has the old catalogues for the Chevelle. He doesn't seem to have any problem getting the parts, if they are available. He can also check on old inventory at other dealerships. I just ordered the major seal kit for the power steering box on our '72 Lemans. I bought a set of catalogues when they were still available many years ago. It sure helps the parts guy when you already have the numbers for him when you call..

If the 68 fenders were still avaible don't you think yearone and other chevelle part suppliers would have some?

I know for a fact they are still available from GM. I was just in the local dealership and they called Michigan to verify stock, it is low but they still have them warehoused. Most aftermarket places (OPG and Chevyland I know for sure) give you the option of N.O.S. or reproduction. So the answer to your question is that they do have them.
