Okay.... we all are aware of the news years resolutions.... for losing weight...quit smoking, be a better human etc.....

---

So why is it when spring comes... and I go to the track...I see some 280 lb. plus xxxl large "person" squeezing behind the wheel of a car that he/she spent all winter trying to go faster by purchasing lighter parts... for....?
Fiberglass.... aluminum etc..... you name it...
All this in the name of picking up a quicker time......
--
I laugh to myself every year when I see this. Heck we have all seen this....

I know a guy who ditched his fiberglass hood... for a carbon fiber one.....
Not a cheap venture......
Vs. putting down the bag of chips again.... (He IS LARGE)

It is interesting how a guy will take pristine care of his car and let his own body go to hell.

When I'm at the YMCA (joined in December), you can tell the "resolutionists" who are just kidding themselves, and those of us who are serious.

I go everyday, and feel a lot better since I joined. My main reason for joining is my kids. They have thier swim lessons there already, and it wasn't much more for the wife and I to join anyway. The kids love the play area too, so it's a win-win. Funny thing, though. I work out an hour every day, plenty of cardio, adding weights slowly (already lift enough with work), and I gained 5#. They said it's my body's way of saving extra energy it thinks it needed until it can get used to the routine. Or the dinner buffets my kids drag me to.

hhahahah thats what my wife tells me.
"honey you keep trying to make that car lighter, but yet you won't go on a diet, and you keep on getting heavier."

btw i think fiber glass is lighter than carbon fiber, but c/f looks more "pimp" hahaha

ohh and who agrees with me on this one.
i tell the wife, that working on my cars is good exercise. i put out a good sweat, every part of my body is moving and working.

Everybody is so touchy.....

I wonder when I am going to see one of these reality plastic surgery TV Shows where the patient comes in and says

"Doc, I need lypo because I cant break out of the 11's and the car is already maxed out on carbon and glass. Can you suck a few tenths worth outta my a$$?"

BTW, im perfect.....you can both ask your wives.... :p ;)

I knew a competitive bicyclist who was doing very well on a regional level, but was having a harder time in larger events. I always thought it had something to do with his weighing 250+ lbs.....

You might be gaining some muscle, which weighs 3x what fat weighs.

So the difference between the resolutionists and the ones who are serious is that the ones who are serious joined in December? :D

Men have their vices. For most this include their cars, and food. I think its that simple. Some men wouldnt give up food or beer, just like we wont give up our cars.
