Greetings,

I recently saw a neat little tool that will roll the lip of the rear fender in so that bigger tires can be fit in the fender well.

I think it was in one of the car mag's that I get. Has anyone used this gizmo? It looks like the ticket, however I'm concerned that it may create a U channel that will hold road grime and increase the chance of fender rust.

I don't much like the idea of trimming the lip back either.

Just thought I'd ask.

I haven't used the tool you describe, but concerning the rust potential you should makes sure there are no rough edges left over. You should also ensure that the wheel lips are 100% painted (no bare spots or scratches from the modification). You could also use oil spray or some other petroleum-based rustproofing on the inside of the wheel lip (inside the panel where the inner & outer fenders meet). You would be on top of it if you sprayed it regularly.
