Looks like it could be out of something from 65. Does the metal tag translate to a particular car. Thanks Thomas, Mike

whats the muncie date on the main case? the vin would tell you what plant the car was built at. Dont know about the tag; but a guy who rebuilt it , looked up the tag on my maincase and determined which year it was from and that it came from a chevelle, so someone should know. After 2/65

what does the muncie date code look like? There is a punch stamp on the top that was struck at an off angle so the numbers would be a guess also circles with dashes in them that oriented in diffrent directions.

If it's a 65 should be something like P 0213 P for Muncie 02 for Feb 13 for the 13th. no year stamp. Not sure when they started stamping vin; but 66 muncies for sure. EXA from 66: 6K123343 1966 Kansas City the 23343 car built, would be someplace on the maincase, maybe top or driverside.

3952659 is the part number used on 1970 M20 Muncies. I think if you look closer, you will find the last two digits to be WB. WB would be the code that shows up on the build sheet in the tranny box. I don't think this tag is originally from this tranny.

Thank for all the help I was hoping to get a definite car to go with this trans to help somebody get # matching but for now it's a garage monument.
