Do you painters leave your guns with thinner in them or do you leave them dry between use..
What if it might be months before you use it again.

Thanks

Bert, I've always left mine with thinner in them regardless of how long I think it will be before I use them again. Frankly I don't know what the paint gun folks say about that, but I have guns that are 20-25 years old that I've done that way. I have a high-dollar SATA 2000NR that I've only used three times in the past 3 years and it's had thinner in it between uses. No problems yet.

I'll give a view from the opposide side. Im a tub refinisher, and I have had the same gun (Accuspray HVLP) for almost 7 years now...I clean it completely after each use..dont just shoot a couple ounces of thinner through it, but clean it good...take it apart (there should only be about 4 things to remove and clean) and I lube it with petroleum jelly on the needle, screw threads and the threads on the cannister. I dont think leaving thinner in it all the time is a good idea, but that's just my opinion. I see from others here that it works for them. John
