: covering holes in 70-72 SS hood?

I'm going to pick-up a SS hood tommorrow that has the hood pin opennings in it. It also has drilled holes on the domed portion where someone had installed "Cowl Induction" emblems. How difficult will it be to fill these holes and will it be noticable? I am not a body work guy so the work will be done by the shop that is going to paint the car, I was just wondering if the repairs should be easy to do and noticable when painted or should I look for another hood?

Thanx,
Dwayne

If it's a good bodyshop it will be an easy fix.. Just cut out a patch for the larger "Hood Pin" holes, butt weld em in, then just weld the other holes up and smooth.. easy easy fix!

normie is right, and under no circumstance let anyone talk you out of welding it up. welding is the only way to go. no exceptions. good luck

Weld the holes for the pins shut tell the shop that you want it butt welded not lapped. You could also use lead to cover the other holes as long as they are not that big. Leading would produce less heat, but is a outdated method that only the hardcore guys use, so weld them up too.
