On one of the latest car shows, it showed someone spraying what I believe to be body Shutz on the underside and then prime and body color. Is that the steps? Sand blast, prime, shutz, prime, body color? What products do you suppose? Thanks,

Cam

I'd be real careful with the sand blasting. My father owns a body shop and I was discussing this topic of sand blasting with his painter the other day and he advised against it. He said years back a customer was in the process of restoring an old Cadi who had sand blasted many of the body panels(i.e, hood, fenders, trunk lid, etc.) He blew out sand from all the little crevises to the point that no more sand was seen. Then he blew it out again just because. When he applied the primer, guess what? Sand was all over. He said it was a disaster. He said sand blasting is great for areas where it has no chance of collecting elsewhere. He said the best is to have your car dipped. But we know that is very costly. I just preped my underside with degeaser and a red scrub pad. A hi-preasure washer would also work well. Once clean, then pime and your choice of paint. Alot of folks go with the POR 15. I went with the Eastwood underhood paint. It has a hi-temp (250 degree) tolerance and is pretty durable. Looks gr8..Good luck
