i think they are cool with the right color car, ive seen some that didnt look right. they look pretty real, I like the ghost flames myself. They add accent without becoming a distraction from the rest of the car.

I clicked on the link and it looks like a polar bear in a snow storm I would not paint that on my car.

I don't like flames on our cars, they only look good on certain Street Rods.

I like both. whenever I get around to repainting my car I am thinking of ghost flames or the real flames in ss srtipes

I hate the "real" flames. I've only seen one car that looked good with them, and that was a '32 Ford.

Flames of any kind, I do not like on most Muscle-era cars. They look good on ~1960 and older cars, and some newer cars & trucks... somehow, they seem to look good on any Station Wagon though, and I'm not sure why... must be something to do with the "balance" of the car's look.

If i can set a spare set of tins for my WideGlide i plan to have the tank and both fenders painted this way. I figure if i dont like it i can always put on my old paint and sell the flame painted parts for what i have in them.

you didn't allow me to vote for "Hate Them" and "Old School Flames"

but the old style flames need to be proportioned to the car, can't go all the way down the body, no "angle end" flames like someone snapped a chalkline from the cowl to the middle of the rocker panel and ended them..... nope.

and the new "ax" flames are cool too.

They are going on my 64 Fairlane a Black car. Funny thing its the same size as my 67 Chevelle wagon bumper to bumper!

I'm a big fan of flames, I put them on ALOT of my cars and other peoples cars. I tend to lay them out in a "random order". They're balanced but not measured out like was stated before. It's usually all done free hand. Some are better than others but I like them all. I started doing them when nobody had them anymore, just to be differant. (late 80's early 90's) Now you can't swing a dead cat without hitting a car with flames.

You mean like what Mike Lavalle(sp) in Washington does? It looks good on the right car in my opinion.

Right style flame on any car makes a difference. Aside from the obvious color differences in the car there are, IMO some not so good looking

and some killer! You can see the ghost flames on the hood and front fender but they extended all the way down the side as well.

Same car, 12 years apart.
