Were there any true two tone paint jobs done to '69 Chevelles? My 3 week old "money-pit" had a nice paint job on it when I purchased the car. It is red with a black vinyl top and black on the rocker panels up to a chrome trim along the bottom.....Lee

I've seen a two tone 69, in Windber PA. Metalic Gold (Upper) and Brown (Lower).
I don't know if it was original though.
I do know that there were at least two, Two Tone Combinations in 1968. My Car codes 'LF' for two tone Teal. But mines been painted so I'm not sure what it looked like.
I would like to see some pictures if anybody has them.
Edit : my Uncle has a 69 malibu thats medium blue above the molding, and silver below, and I believe that was original.

Thanks to those of you who answered my question. Jr, that pic of your green '69 sure brings back memories as I had the exact same combo with the 350/300. (My first '69 Chevelle bought brand new). However mine was a hardtop with black vinyl. Mine was built in Canada and had a maple leaf sticker in the door with the assembly plant listed....a great car!!! Lee
