I have a fully restored #'s matching beautiful 70 SS 396 white on white . .The only thing I want to do is have it re-painted ,the paint is OK now but not perfect so when I have it done I want to do it right. I would like to know if the stripes were originally from the factory taped or painted on the hood & trunk. I am hearing differant stories as to how to do this correctly - the way it is now the wide stripe looks painted & the outer narrow stripe looks like tape with clear coat over - I am very new to this & my husband says since it's my car & I have to do all the research, so I am reaching to you all to get some help on this. Thank so much

the factory way was the stripes were painted on the hood and deck lid.

If you go to our search section, and type in painted stripes, you will find quite a bit of stuff.
