Does anyone know what the original color is for the undercoating of a 66 Chevelle SS? I'm told they did not come with undercoating from the factory and to paint it flat black. I'd like to make this car correct. :) Thank you!!!:)

Dont paint it at all .Get it treated and rustproofed.

My car built in Atlanta had the underside painted a satin or semi black. I believe all cars had some undercoating, especially in the fender wells. The undercoating in the fender wells was black.

Are you doing a CORRECT "Factory" Restoration? or do you mean you want to do it correct as in the best way?

Undercoating was generally done at the dealership as part of prep., Paint it! :thumbsup:
