Hello everyone. I manage an auto parts store that sells PPG paint. I have been trying to come up with a formula in DBC to match '66 Marina Blue. I have also tried our Prophet and still could not come up with the correct match. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

On some of the old colors you WONT find a formula simply because PPG and all the others have better things to do then color match a color thats 30+ years old.
Try getting a formula using the cheaper line of PPG's OMNI.
The prohpet in my opinion is not as good as the Dupont machine, but thats here nor there. You could always try Dupont instead smile.gif
Anyway Ive NEVER seen the prophet make an excat color. It gets you close enough that you might get a blendable match but NEVER a butt match. You will need to tint your new computer color to match marina blue..
Make sure that spot you are scanning that its nice and shiney, NO DULL paint. Also if you cant take scans from several different spot on the car like the hood, fender or door, you need to rotate the prohpet around that spot. Hold it at the 12 postion take a scan then hold it at the 3 postion then the 6 postion and finally 9 postion.
Doing so will get scans from different angles and you should be able to average the scans for one color.

According to this (http://www.ppgcarpaint.com/colorsv2.php)site the ppg code you are looking for is 13148. Hopefully this gets you in the ballpark.
Best of Luck!!
